Veterans Day
When you hear the word VETERAN, what do you think of? Do you picture someone from a movie you have seen? Do you think of a Grandparent? What is the connotation that goes along with the image that your mind's eye creates?
What types of things should be done in our country to HONOR veterans--both by individuals and through the government? Why?

I think that restaurants and other places should offer discounts and give them special treatment, like have the staff say something nice to them like a thank you song.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of veteran I think of my grandpa because he is a veteran . I think that veterans should be treated with a lot of respect because they served our country and risked their lives for us . I think that parades are a good way to show our thanks .

ReplyDeleteI think that the veterans, if they come home and don't have a home, the government should give them a nice home. Also they should be able to get into any government event for free. Also I think that a few restaurants should give veterans a free meal once a week.

DeleteI I think of any person who serves in any branch of the military. I think of my uncle and grandfather. Them in camp with their squad/platoon. Discounts and they better keep the GI bill.
ReplyDeleteI think veterans should receive discounts on things, however I don't think a veteran would really want to be treated too much different. Most veterans are humble people who I would think don't want to be see as different.
ReplyDeleteI think of people who served in the army. No i do not picture someone from a movie I've seen. I do think of my grandfather he served as a mechanic in Vietnam and got leukemia. I think of little old men with world war two jackets and hats on. The people should just thank every veteran they see for keeping their country safe. I don't think the government can do anymore for veteran they already do enough.

ReplyDeleteI think that we should honor our veterans everyday because we cant make up for what they did and do everyday.

ReplyDeleteWhen I hear the word VETERAN I imagine people in a black and white movie marching around victoriously. For all they do for us I feel that they should get discounts on clothes, groceries, and ect.
